Column & Beam Design Report

1 · Column grid & spacing▾
Fill in the spacing (ft) between each pair of column lines on the diagram below — this is your "column spacing". Tap a column node to switch it OFF if your house doesn't have a column there (e.g. an L-shaped plot, verandah cut-out); its beams are removed too. The app builds the full column & beam list from this automatically.

IS 875 Part 2: residential floor 2.0 kN/m² typical, accessible roof 1.5 kN/m². Adjust for your locality/usage.
5 · Wall load on beams▾
Assumes every beam carries one storey height of brick wall (19 kN/m³); the terrace/top beam carries only the parapet height instead. Turn off if your layout has open/partition-free bays.
Preliminary / thumb-rule tool. Uses tributary-area load estimation + IS 456 simplified continuous-beam coefficients — a fast, code-aware sizing aid for a basic G+3 house, not a substitute for a full structural analysis by a licensed structural engineer, especially for irregular layouts, heavy loads, or seismic zones III–V.
